Endometriosis appointments are short and often months apart. A pain diary turns "it has been bad" into a page that shows which days, how bad, and where in your cycle.
What to write down each day
- Pain, 0 to 10, and where, in your own words: pelvic, back, during periods, with bowel or bladder movements. Record the pain-free days too.
- Cycle day, or simply whether you were bleeding, if you track it.
- Other symptoms, 0 to 10 each: fatigue, bloating, nausea, painful periods, or whatever yours are.
- Sleep and energy, as numbers.
- What you took, as you took it, by name and time. A diary records; it does not decide.
- A short note when something was different: a missed day of work, a trip, a new prescription.
Before the appointment
- Bring at least two cycles.
- Mark the days with your highest numbers and the days you missed work or plans.
- Put your questions at the top.
