Chronic fatigue energy log: a daily record of energy, sleep and symptoms
Free download, no sign-up: Printable PDF, one page · Large print PDF
If you live with ME/CFS or chronic fatigue, you are often asked to keep track of your energy. The useful version is one line a day: how much energy you had, what you did with it, and how you felt the day after.
What to rate
- Energy, 0 to 10, once a day at the same time.
- Sleep, in hours, and whether it felt refreshing, as a 0 to 10 if that is easier.
- Your main symptoms, 0 to 10 each: fatigue, brain fog, muscle pain, sore throat, dizziness, or whatever yours are, named the same way every day.
- Pain, as its own number.
What to note
- The day's activity in a few words: "two hours of errands", "worked from bed", "a visit".
- Payback days: if the day after an activity had higher numbers, say so in the note. Your clinician reads the record; the log only has to hold it.
- Anything prescribed, as you took it.
Keep it going
- Log every day, including the good ones; the good days are what the bad days are compared to.
- Short notes. One line is a record; a paragraph is a chore you will stop doing.
- If your clinician has talked about pacing, ask what they want in the log and keep to that.
How Brookday does it
Brookday has energy, sleep and pain built in, plus your own symptom names on a 0 to 10 row each, and a note. A day takes a moment and "Same as yesterday" covers a stable one. Charts shows 7-day and 30-day bars per symptom; the monthly report is a PDF you can print. Brookday records; it does not interpret or advise.
Price: Logging, history, charts and exporting your own data are always free, for as many days as you like. Your first doctor PDF costs nothing, and more doctor PDFs need a one-time unlock for $14.99. It doesn't renew. Everything stays on your device.
